Background |
Insight Persuasion |
Guild Artisan is a Background in Baldur's Gate 3. Backgrounds are special traits or expertises that affect the starting Proficiencies the player has and also add two bonus background features. Backgrounds may also decide how your character be treated by certain NPCs, and how can they handle certain situations.
Guild Artisan Information
- Your skill in a particular craft has earned you membership in a mercantile guild, offering privileges and protection while engaging in your art. Repairing and discovering rare crafts will bring new inspiration.
Guild Artisan Skill Proficiencies
- Insight Proficiency: Add your proficiency bonus to any roll made with Insight.
- Persuasion Proficiency: Add your proficiency bonus to any roll made with Persuasion.
Guild Artisan Background Goals
- When a character performs an action that's true to their Background, they will be Inspired. Earning +1 Inspiration Point and +25 Exp. Inspiration may be spent to reroll an Ability Check. Not only your character can become Inspired, but also your Companions.
- You may hold up to 4 Inspiration points at once. Inspiration earned over the cap will become Experience Points.

Apprentice Turns Master is currently bugged due to a recent patch of this posting due to many folks being outright unable to interact with the cauldron. It's highlightable, but not clickable, or interactable. A Golden Masterpiece: The Ruby in the chest is NOT worth 1,000 gold. It is worth 60 gold. I have yet to come across an item that sells, individually for 1,000 gold outside of the Runepowder Barrel you can steal from the Gnome in the Underdark, which sells for 2,500 gold. Going to be coming back to this page, semi regularly to give updated info on the Guild Artisan background inspirations. Currently starting Act 2.

Mainly perfect for an Artificier class. Pls add also the Guild Merchant for non-crafters like Bards or Clerics of Waukeen.
