Bug I’ve encountered but I haven’t seen posted anywhere else is the spear on miss giving my target true strike not the wielder. For clarification not occasionally, consistently, on multiple playthroughs during various patch iterations, on miss the intended target now gains advantage on me. If it were a half decent weapon even when working as intended I might be upset but like most people I just feed it to Gale.

Feed it to Gale. It has maybe 10 minutes of relevance for a melee-lite Cleric at levels 2-4.
If you are a melee character missing your attacks, it means you need to respec and bump your STR up, or DEX up if you use finesse wpns.
If you are a pure spellcaster you are better off casting a melee spell like Shocking Grasp instead and repositioning out of melee.

Decent when you're just starting out as a monk and have yet to pick up a +1 quarterstaff or spear. Primarily due to the fact we attack multiple times in a round, so misses do happen.

I think they just nerfed it so you only get True Strike on melee attacks and not when you throw it. Larian whyyyyy

If you think about doing an Eldritch Knight (Fighter subclass) where you can throw this spear, get it back to hand immediately (Eldritch Knight lvl3 Weapon Bond), and in case it misses you get True strike on next throw (Watcher Guide prop) - then Dueling (Fighter's lvl1 Fighting Style) that gives +2dmg won't work on it as of now :(

I made some calculations to estimate the real chance to hit with this weapons and others with the same kind of effect.
25% becomes 39%, 40% becomes 55%, 50% becomes 62,5%, 65% becomes 73%, 75% becomes 79%, 85% becomes 87%. You can see the diminishing returns the easier to hit the target but overall it's like having +2 to hit in most cases. Keep in mind that a +1 weapon deals more damage overall than one with this enchantment if your chance to hit is 55% or more, which I'm pretty sure is most of the time.
Here is a video showing how to solve the puzzle or booby trap set on the sarcophagus holding this weapon: https://youtu.be/w8HO0-e15W8

Does anyone know if this a cursed item? One of my characters keeps gaining the effects of Death Promise even when the spear is no longer in my inventory. Is it intended or is it a bug?
In theory, this _couid_ be be utilized by an eldritch knight as a one-handed alternative to the returning pike throwbarian build, but apparently this thing's main trait only works when you specifically poke someone with it.
