if youve destroyed the mushrooms like i did and extracted the ingredients from the tower the hobgoblin vendor can sell the timmask spores and the dwarven woman can sell tongues of madness just long rest to change stock if not there when you first check

i had destroyed all the timmask in the underdark before realizing i needed them (and that they wouldn't respawn). the timmask spores from the arcane tower had long since been extracted (and i had missed omeluum until checking something about blurg on his wiki). none of the vendors suggested had any for sale. i had given up hope.

but then, deep in act 2, i found One timmask spore item inside the thorm mausoleum, in the first set of rooms! at long last, i can turn in this quest, lol.

If you've already destroyed the Timmasks on the map, the vendor near the entrance to the Myconid colony also sells spores.

          • You can find these in The Underdark (there is a burning mansion where you have to rescue someone. just west of there is a building with a cave under it where a painter is being held hostage. in that cave is an elevator that takes you even further down, to The Underdark). Getting near the mushroom causes the spores to release, BUT causes madness/disorientation for a turn (befuddled?), which makes them difficult to collect - especially when there are also Torchstalks nearby.

            • You can find grown timmask at x=125,y=-195 (under the bridge)
When you come close to it, it explodes, leaving spores on the ground for ~1 second
Jump on the plant holding alt and pick them up fast

              • The spore clouds can be resisted with Constitution saving throws. So press G to separate your party members, and then walk your tanikest character to a shroom. You do not have to be in turn-based mode. A group of shrooms will drop several spores, but as soon as you pick up just ONE, then the others will disappear again. So, pick up one, leave the cloud, and then wait for the cloud to dissipate. Repeat until you have all the spores for that mushroom. Save scum between attempts, if you want to collect as many as possible. Anything that boosts Constitution (eg, warding bond, guidance / bless) will help.

I used these on accident because I explored the tower before getting the quest. Can they be gotten anywhere else?
