Soul Coin Location & Where to Find
Locations:
- Inside Emerald Grove, above on the eastern ridge. A Tiefling named Nadira can be saved from the Bugbear Assassin. She may reward you with a Soul Coin after a die check.
- Inside the Dank Crypt. The first Soul Coin is inside a sarcophagus on the sides (in the room with the large sarcophacus in the center). The second Soul Coin is in a sarcophagus, inside a small room west of a room with a big statue and dead scribes. The third Soul Coin is located in a sarcophagus, in the room opened with a button, north of the same big statue room.
- Directly south of The Risen Road waypoint. On the floor of balcony of Toll Collector's house.
- Reithwin Town Tollhouse, underneath the Tollhouse through the southern doors on the path leading to the docks. You need to pass a perception check for a button, opening a secret room. The coin is on the desk.
- Moonrise Towers, Main Floor: Three from Lann Tarv, Armourer to the Absolute. Can be looted from his corpse, purchased from him, or obtained free of charge by letting Karlach listen to three stories
- Baldur's Gate, mailbox for the Peartree house. Easily found by following the marker 'Murder Target: Frank' after finding a list of assasination targets

Wikis and pages seldom have the info you're after...
So, does taking Flo's coins come back to bit you in the arse or are the ones Lann Tarv handing out basically free? What are the consequences?

If Karlach consumes a soul coin to get the "Infernal Fury" buff condition, despite the fact it says the extra 1d4 fire damage applies only when either raging or when below 25% health, that only seems to apply to attacks with weapons.
As of Patch 2, post-release, If using an unarmed attack and while Infernal Fury is up, Karlach will get 2x instances (1d4+1d4) of fire damage instead of just 1 and this damage applies both outside of rage and above 25% health.
This makes Monk a very synergistic combo for Karlach knowing this.
This is likely a bug, keep in mind this might get patched later.

Worthless if you've respecced Karlach into a non-barbarian. Haven't found any other use for them other than a consumable for Karlach

Any other use than Karlach? Is there a merchant somewhere that takes Soul Coins instead of Gold?

These are not working as intended when the character is not a barbarian. I'm playing a 4 monk/1 fighter/6 monk, and I'm getting two instances of 1d4 bonus damage, for some reason.

Karlach can consume these to gain Infernal fury condition which adds 1d4 fire damage to her attacks when raging or below 25% of hp. I hope it becomes better later on or its just nearly worthless.

Found about 10 of them during my solo (no party) playthrough, never found any use for them. I think there was a vendor in act 2 who had 3 of them for sale.

There is another soul coin in the treasure crates behind the true soul bugbear leader's throne. And according to Karlach, they can empower her in combat, haven't used it yet for that so I couldn't tell in what way.

I have 3 in my inventory but no idea where I got the 3rd one
If you hold the Soul Coin in your pointer, it will make weird and ominous noises. I am familiar with their uses in DnD, but I don't know how to harness them in BG3.
There's another Soul Coin inside the Dank Crypt (through the door where you found Shadowheart). It is on the left as you come in lying on the floor near the first sarcophacus. X:-303 Y:-331
