Total clutter unless you sell it to make gold. There's no upgrading feature in this game, nor has been in other Divinity engine games. Just sell it.

There is no upgrading in this game, in spite of what some trolls try to convince you of. All ingots are for selling only.

There seems to be a huge attempt to gas lite people, these things are not used for upgrading. It's money, sell it like seriously no one mentioned in any place gear upgrading.

The Windows Central article shows no pictures of the workbench or it being used.
Other sources hypothesize you may need them later like "We'd recommend keeping a couple of silver ingots in your camp chest, just in case later parts of the game offer"
The text of all these sites are nearly identical as if AI generated.
I'm skeptical there is a workbench use for them and reddit BG3 threads have people that have played through act 3 saying there is NO workbench use for silver ignots.

As all divinity original sin games including dos3 it's safe to sell bars and gems.

Anyone know if these are safe to sell, or used for crafting?
If you can, save it until your persuasion goes way up--do this for all the higher ticket items. Then you can buy some great Very Rare gear in the later game... Use Astarion when talking with merchants.
