Sailor is a removed Background (EA only) in Baldur's Gate 3. Backgrounds are special traits or expertises that affect the starting Proficiencies the player has and also add two bonus background features. Backgrounds may also decide how your character be treated by certain NPCs, and how can they handle certain situations.

- You are familiar with the workings of ships and life at sea, having spent years weathering storms and battling creatures of the deep.

- Athletics Proficiency: Add your proficiency bonus to any roll made with Athletics.
- Perception Proficiency: Add your proficiency bonus to any roll made with Perception.

This would have been a cool proficiency to have. I would have absolutely gave my character the Sailor background.
