Ray of Frost Tips & Notes
- The spell's damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8) and 10th level (3d8).
- A target with the Wet status is vulnerable to cold/lightning damage and will sustain double damage from this spell.
- If cast at a target standing in a Water/Blood Surface, the surface will become an Ice Surface (half move, save or Prone).
- The verbal component has the caster saying "Glacius", Latin for "ice".

What is the DC for the dex save of the ice surface? Does it also scale off of your spellcasting DC, or is it a flat environmental number?

Can someone explain to me why my half elf warlock Ray of Frost uses int for its attack role?

Why do I have two of this spell in Gale's spellbook? On the level up screen when preparing spells it's listed below the Level 1 spells as a "Level [1]" spell.

From my experience it doesn't freeze surfaces if you target someone standing in them, only does so when you target the ground, thus leaving your enemy undamaged.

use this to freeze blood, then heat up frozen blood. no more blood, only water.

CORRECTION
I'm looking at me level 10 divination school Gale's spell list right now. Ray of Frost does 3d8 @ 10th level. They've changed the damage advancement track for cantrips in this game.
Similar changes were made to the other scaling damage cantrips.
Produce Flame's hurl attack goes to 3d8 @ 10th level
Eldritch blast gets its 3rd Ray @ 10th level
Firebolt goes to 3d10 @ 10th level
Sacred Flame goes to 3d8 @ 10th level

Blood can make a frosty surface so if you hit them with a bonus action off handcrossbow then this you can trigger the free grease effect

It might be useful to mention under what conditions Ray of Frost does or doesn’t create ice surfaces (should that be a feature of the spell). There can be quite a bit of utility in creating slippery terrain for enemies to traverse.
