  • While extremely frail, the raven companion's high mobility is useful for scouting areas that require long distance jumps.
  • Doesn't cause NPCs to flee in terror.

It baffles me that these On Black Wings summons aren't controllable, the ranger is just known for being bad already but why cant they get control of all the animals they summon. The druid gets control of the summon their summon summons and its probably the same strength with more utility as the extra bear and you get it earlier than lvl 11. Its just annoying when the AI decides to just dash at the enemy and do nothing. At lvl 11 thats pretty much just a dead raven.

Bad Omen's curse DC scales off the raven's Strenght, for some reason, so at level 5 it's 8 base - 2(strenght) + 3 (Proficiency) = 9, making landing it a very optimistic proposition, especially on higher difficulty levels

        • Does "On Black Wings" summon 2 companion-type ravens or 2 familiar-type ravens? Because a 1 damage, 1hp familiar late in the game that you can't even control probably isn't going to be very useful.

Looks like Bad Omen always deals damage and the save only helps against the curse effect, very nice with Hunter's Mark bonus damage

At lvl 11, the raven also creates a patch of darkness at it's destination when using Fly, which last for 2 turns. This can be pretty useful considering the raven is immune to blind at that point as well.
