I think all clerics might get this. It's available as a general spell that requires preparing for my war cleric.

Good choice with HUNGER OF HADAR. Use this+hunger of hadar and enemy cant teleport, cant attack, they blind and take damage from this and hunger of hadar, with HUNGER OF HADAR u can use spike growth and win every fight!

How good is the perception disadvantage this gives? Asides from that it seems like a weaker Cloud of Daggers (since CoD has no CON saves), or is the aoe for this bigger than CoD?

Ah, the fond days of slinging the Swarm Curses at thugs in the alleys of Sigil...

Bad for a level 5 spell slot. The damage isn't incredible, the Perception disadvantage is situational at best, it requires concentration, and there are far more efficient spell options for large AoE Difficult Terrain. Hungar of Hadar, Spike Growth, or Plant Growth are all better choices. Even Destructive Wave is a better AoE disruption spell as it doesn't affect allies and requires no concentration to knock enemies prone.
