You can force the enemy to target it by casting sanctuary on you.
oh, you can also prolong guardian's life by casting warding bond... prepare to heal yourself constantly though. The guardian deals and takes a lotta damage.

Pair it with a darkness spell, and you can stay inside. The guardian damage ignores AC, it's a dex save. And success still causes half damage. Inside darkness, every chump will miss those strikes and take a beating from the guardian, and long range attacks+spells can't be aimed inside.

the worst level 4 spell in the game. every enemy is smart enough to walk out of the circle before attacking anyone. Only time this guy does anything is when someone uses an AOE

More useful than it sounds. It projects an AoE in a circle where any enemy that attacks a party member (if both are standing in the circle) will immediately eat 20 radiant damage, per attack they do, until the Guardian runs out of HP. Again this is per attack the *enemy* does so if they burn their double attack and a bonus action swing that's 60 damage for free; given the massive range of damage possible even with late game stuff (3-48 rolls anyone?) reliable damage like this is amazing. Worst case scenario the enemy also wastes turns trying to kill the Guardian and it does slightly less damage while tanking it for you.

Fixed/added missing information. Not sure if the summon HP is affected by caster stats or anything, all I can see is that it has 42HP when cast by a lv7 cleric.

This spell is actually better than many give it credit for, slap this next to your tank and it'll punish anything that attacks your tank, it's attacks are also guaranteed hits so it can be extremely useful against targets with high AC.
Though I will admit, it's pretty lame that you can't reposition this spell.
