Feign Death Tips & Notes
- Stealing: Can be used on friendly Traders (give items or gold worth large sums). Failing pickpocket will only end attempt for that round, but not awaken the NPC. When the spell expires, the trader will awaken unaware of having been robbed. (May not work in Honor Mode)
- Crime: If your player is caught in a crime and a guard approaches, quickly casting Feign Death on the culprit will prevent interrogation and the guard will usually lose interest before the spell expires.

It can't be used to pickpocket anymore. It simply doesn't allow targeting NPCs.

The description says it all. Use it to steal from the NPC traders after bribing their attitude.

You can trade with npcs to get green reputation with them. Then you can use feign death to effectively put them to sleep for 10 turns. (unlike sleep which is 2 turns)

Can anyone give me some good uses for this? Obviously if friendly target A is going to die you can try to save them with this — but has anyone found any really good uses?
For anyone curious, I had a friend playing as a Paladin with me. We were fighting Yurgir, he was effectively out of resources, and decided to drink the long rest potion. I cast Feign Death on him so he wouldn't be "interrupted" and it worked, the rest of us died but he got all his stuff back and started laying down smites XD
