Deliver Nere's Head is a Quest in Baldur's Gate 3. Deliver Nere's Head can be acquired during Chapter XX. Completing Deliver Nere's Head will progress the story forward.

Deliver Nere's Head Walkthrough
- Once you complete Free True Soul Nere, you have to interact with Nere's body to extract his head.
- After removing his head (Strength check), return to the Myconid circle and deliver it to Spaw to complete the Quest. The reward is Envoy's Amulet.

- You receive this Quest from Spaw, after completing Protect the Myconid Circle.

Deliver Nere's Head Notes & Tips
- If Nere dies in the lava, his head cannot be retrieved and the reward cannot be obtained, though the quest will be considered completed. NPC allies might push him in the lava.

I received the quest to kill the Duergar but didn't return and get this quest until after I'd already killed Nere. I went back and had a dialogue option to remove his head for a strength check. I stepped away for a moment first and then was able to loot his corpse for the head without the check anyway.

had him die not in the lava but still wouldn't let me take his head.

If you use Animate Undead on Nere the quest will finish with you being unable to retrieve his head. :(

I took his entire body back to the sovereign and still couldn't complete que quest.

If you side with Glut instead when you finish this quest he gives you Champions Chain. It gives +2 bonus to intimidation checks.

Nere ended up in lava - I looted him during combat. His head, along with the rest, was lootable without any checks or dialogue.

Workaround for those of you who kicked the bastard in the lava:
If you loot him while he's still in there/burning, you will not get his head and the quest will auto-complete with 'Couldn't retrieve Nere's head.'
If you send Karlach into the lava and chuck him out before you loot him, you can then loot him for his head.
Depending on the order you do things, this may not work: I didn't get the quest until well AFTER killing him.

This quest seems to be impossible to finish if you take a long rest after you side with Nere to kill the gnomes. Nere disappears after the long rest and is nowhere to be found. In my playthrough I discovered the myconid colony after I had already been to Grymforce.

Was able to get his head w/o the strength roll. just click his body, leave dialog, and click on his body again. his head was in the inventory.

So on my save, while I was collecting the gunpowder, it seems the dwarves finally dug through the rockslide and then faffed off with all their slaves. Nere's body was lying outside the once caved in room, unburnt, and when I looted it there was no dialog or a head in the loot table. Seems letting the dwarves get away fails the quest...?

So I went through most of the forge questlineand killed the dwarfs with Nere, I have not forged the weapon yet. But afterwards I furthered the questline with the miccanoids, but now I ran into the quest deliver nere's head so I go back to were I left him and he is not there. Does anybody have a clue were he is at?

If you kill him then take deliver nere's head quest after he's already been looted then come back for him the quest will now auto complete with the note "We couldn't retrieve Nere's head."

yep...still an issue if you kill the bugger loot him THEN go talk to this mushroom twit....how the hec is this still an issue HOW is it an issue like people are gonna loot the bodies they make...WHY IS IT NOT AN OPTION TO JUST CUT HIS HEAD OFF...oi

If you go back to the colony after turning in his head there is an organe 'Blooming Drow's Head' nearby the sovereign... anyone know if it does anything?

Apparently if you loot Nere during combat, you cannot retrieve his head. Had to save-scum. Sigh.
I killed all the Druegar beforehand because I hate this scum. I then freed Nere and ended the conversation peacefully. He was still alive afterwards. Later I came to the Myconid colony and was supposed to get the head. However, he was no longer in the area... where did he go... at least he could have left his head there?
