A high Initiative character can take full advantage of this Blade Ward cantrip. It is not a good cantrip to those with low DEX and low Initiative.

Here is a demonstration, assuming you are a level 3+ thief who somehow learned this cantrip. You are naturally the first to attack every turn and you dual wield hand crossbows:

Turn 1: Action =Blade Ward, bonus action #1=shoot, bonus action #2 = shoot
      Turn 2: Action=shoot, bonus action #1=shoot, bonus action #2=shoot
Turn 3: Action =Blade Ward, bonus action #1=shoot, bonus action #2 = shoot
      Turn 4: Action=shoot, bonus action #1=shoot, bonus action #2=shoot
      ......

By sacrificing 1 of 6 attacks every 2 turns (equivalent to 1/6 of your overall damage output), you can indefinitely keep 50% resistance to physical weapon damage while retaining an average of 2.5 attacks per turn. As this cantrip requires no concentration, its resistance effect on you cannot be disrupted or otherwise prematurely ended without you being downed or killed first.

I wish they changed the ingame description so it mentioned RESISTANCE rather than implying it was a different buff altogether. This is such a useless spell because of resistance lmao.

Tank mode for Eldrich knight and War Magic:
Turn 1: Blade War, trigger bonus action for one attack.
          Turn 2: Do normal actions.
Turn 3: go back to Turn 1 and repeat.

Protect for 1 turn only :(
(it get from 2 to 1 after you end your turn when you launched it, then at the end of your next turn it will fade from 1 to 0 and disapear)

I Found its usage in pain trial in the temple. Cast it between the strikes to embrace pain more comfortably

Highly circumstantial. I can think of a handful of places where this might have been useful but it uses an entire action all by itself. Unless you're using an Eldritch knight and taking advantage of War Magic, this cantrip ends up hurting more than it helps. Use that action to reposition, use a scroll or drink a potion instead.
