Both below are wrong. The shield indeed grants a spell that DOES NOT require concentration and gives +2 AC to branded creatures in an AOE. No passive bonus is granted.

For the moment this shield is bugged and just passively provided my Shadowheart +4 AC instead of 2, she did not have the mark of the absolute and never used the shield's capacity

The shield provides you with a spell (once per a short rest) that gives you +2 armor class and requires concentration to work.
item has been severely nerfed in release. absolute protection has been deleted. now grants +1 saving throw to branded wielder only and grants them 1 cast of heroism per long rest
